Programs & Services
Comstock Park Public Schools offers programs and services on a full continuum designed to meet the individual needs of each student.
Local and regional programs provided by the district are reported below. The first column gives a brief room description follower by the FTE (Full Time Teacher Equivalent and at what age / grade).
Diagnostic services for students are completed within the district whenever possible. Additional diagnostic services are available through Ken-O-Sha Diagnostic Center.
Comstock Park provides classroom programming for students with more intense needs in conjunction with Grand Rapids Public Schools.
A successful cooperative teaching model using a special education teacher in the regular classroom may be used in Stoney Creek, Pine Island, and Mill Creek Middle School and High School buildings for specific subject areas.
A “pull-out” model is used to provide student support and/or instruction as needed in all buildings.

Out of District Programs:
Ken-O-Sha Infant/Preschool Program
Preschool age children who have been identified as having a significant developmental delay and require assistance are provided programming and/or service through Wellerwook Early Childhood Program: Ages birth to 3 years old.
Grand Rapids Public School Programs
Kent Education Center (for students with severe emotional impairments), Lincoln Developmental Center, Kent Vocational Options, and Lincoln School serve students from Comstock Park: Ages 3 & up
Regional Programs (Region 1 Cooperative)
Students identified with a Mild or Moderate Cognitive Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Vision Impairment and Autism Disorder may be served in Regional programs or in Special Education programs in Comstock Park: Ages 5 & up
Teacher Consultant for Visually Impaired students are provided by Region 1. Teacher Counsultants for Hearing Impaired are available through Shawnee Park and Northview.
